DREAMSAVERS is an IDA Program. IDA stands for Individual Development Account. The accounts are matched savings accounts that enable lower income families to save money, build assets, and improve their lives.

GroundWorks offers two types of IDA:

  • First Time Homeownership Savings
  • Higher Education or Skill Training

As a participant in the Dreamsavers program, you will open a no-fee savings account at one of our partner banks. When you make deposits in your account, 3 times the amount you deposit is set aside for you in a separate account. This money can be used for a down payment or other costs of a first time home purchase, or to pay for costs of higher education or skill training.

With an Education IDA or Homeownership IDA, you can save up to $2,000 and receive $6,000 in matched money for a total of $8,000!
